🎥 A shoplifter in Barnet tried to escape on an e-scooter - but officers put the brakes on his plans. Thanks to their quick actions, a 'wanted' shoplifter was caught red-handed. This was just one of 18 arrests made to bring persistent shoplifters in the area to justice.

📲| A team of nine brave officers have been hailed heroes after rescuing residents from a blaze at a hostel in Euston. In the early hours of Saturday morning, officers arrived and were met with thick smoke which had filled the entire basement level and was rising and spreading to the floors above. The team bravely entered the basement and located a number of people who were trapped and disorientated inside the smoke filled rooms. Sergeant Pete Day then tackled the fire with extinguishers. Three members of the public, as well as the nine Met officers, were all taken to hospital for minor injuries caused by smoke inhalation. They have all since been discharged.

When a shoplifter stealing steaks ‘meats’ the law 🥩 After several reports of theft were made by a Co-Op store in Lambeth, Inspector Darren Watson and his team set up a ‘steak-out’. in the back room to catch the thief. Working with local businesses, the team have jailed 11 out of the 14 most prolific shoplifters in Lambeth in the last month - including this one.

In a Benny Hill-style moment, Sergeant Alan Cooley arrested a suspect in Greenwich using their own bike! Teaming up with PC Ama Thind, who was on foot, they both gave chase and "tyred" the suspect out before arresting him in possession of a large amount of drugs. Mohamed Guezoul sexually assaulted a young man in a bar. Officers identified and arrested Guezoul two days after the incident by the venue. He was linked to another incident and found guilty of rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment, and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
