Like Ofmatthew in the dystopian TV show, she’s being kept alive just so she can birth a child. The Handmaid’s Tale has finally become a reality. This isn’t what her family wants, but Georgia’s strict anti-abortion law, which prevents you from terminating a pregnancy after just six weeks, means she will remain on a ventilator until the baby is able to be born. A British teenager at the centre of an international missing person hunt has claimed she is pregnant after being found in a prison in Georgia on drugs charges. Bella May Culley, 18, was arrested after smuggling 14 kilos of cannabis into the ex-soviet country. At her hearing in Tbilisi city court yesterday, she announced she was pregnant, and will now undergo a medical examination.
