*Mabvuku man brutally beaten to death by 3 night club women as Bulawayo woman falls from 3rd floor and dies while being beaten up* *Follow Our Channel* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaM08D9BPzjU3mQyTq0w HARARE – Three women from Mabvuku, who reside at Babylon Night Club, have been brought before the courts charged with the murder of a man they accused of stealing a mobile phone. The incident has cast a shadow over the Old Tafara neighbourhood and highlighted the ongoing issue of violence in Harare’s nightlife scene. Mavis Gambiza, Sharon Tayengwa, and Sharon Mufushe appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova, where they were formally charged but not asked to enter a plea. The gravity of the accusations means the trio will remain in custody pending a High Court trial. The state, represented by prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that in the early hours of Thursday, February 13th, at Babylon Bar in Old Tafara, the three women confronted Charles Julius, accusing him of theft. The court heard that the confrontation escalated into a violent assault. It is alleged that the women repeatedly struck Julius on the head with a pot and other unidentified objects. The ferocity of the attack left Julius with severe injuries. Julius was initially taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment, with the incident logged under Mabvuku police reference OB1027/25. After receiving medical attention, he was discharged the same day. Tragically, Julius succumbed to his injuries two days later, on Saturday, passing away at his home. The death prompted swift action from law enforcement, leading to the immediate arrest of the three women. During their court appearance, Magistrate Matova informed Gambiza, Tayengwa, and Mufushe that any application for bail would need to be made directly to the High Court, acknowledging the seriousness of the charges. The three accused were remanded in custody to March 3, pending indictment for trial. Meanwhile, in a separate case highlighting the issue of violence, Meluleki Ndlovu of Burombo Flats in Bulawayo, accused of murdering his wife, was taken for police indications on Monday afternoon. Ndlovu is accused of assaulting his wife, Siphiwe Ndlovu, before she fell from their third-floor apartment window, sustaining fatal injuries. The circumstances surrounding Siphiwe’s death remain a subject of intense scrutiny. Under heavy police guard, Ndlovu was escorted back to the scene of the incident, where detectives meticulously reconstructed the events leading up to the tragedy. The presence of a coffin containing Siphiwe’s body, transported in the same police van, served as a stark reminder of the human cost of the alleged crime. Police indications involve taking an accused person back to the crime scene as detectives reconstruct the events leading to the crime. Meluleki is expected to appear in court on Tuesday. Meanwhile, mourners have gathered at number G159 in Mzilikazi suburb to pay their respects to Siphiwe’s family.

*Met Department Forecasts Heavy Rain, Strong Winds, Flash Flooding Across Several Provinces* *Follow Our Channel* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaM08D9BPzjU3mQyTq0w Met Department Forecasts Heavy Rain, Strong Winds, Flash Flooding Across Several Provinces The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall and the potential for flash flooding in flood-prone areas, river basins, and wetlands across several provinces, including Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands, and Southern Matabeleland North. The adverse weather is expected from Wednesday, 19 February to Thursday, 20 February 2025. In an advisory released on Monday, 17 February 2025, at 4 PM, the MSD warned that heavy rainfall, exceeding 50mm in some areas, is likely, accompanied by lightning and strong wind gusts. Residents in affected regions are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions. MSD said: A thick cloud is slowly approaching the western borders of the country from Botswana. It is expected to be coupled by moisture from the north-west and that from the south-east. This is anticipated to cause heavy rainfall (exceeding 70 mm) as well as string winds in provinces such as Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands and southern parts of Matabeleland North, effective from noon of Wednesday 19 February till the early hours of Thursday. There is a chance of flash floods in flood-prone areas, in river basins. Roads may also be slippery and visibility reduced by rainfall, thus requiring a need for increased braking distance. There may also be fallen trees and power lines. Therefore the public is advised to take precautionary measures as advised by the Civil Protection Unit.

*Police Roadblocks To Stay, Says Kazembe* *Follow Our Channel* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaM08D9BPzjU3mQyTq0w Police Roadblocks To Stay, Says Kazembe Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister, Kazembe Kazembe, said police roadblocks will remain in place across the country to maintain peace, promote road safety, and curb lawlessness. In a statement, Kazembe defended the decision to continue with the roadblocks and patrols, citing public indifference and the ongoing need for security on the roads. He said: Our people complain when police presence increases, and they complain when it is reduced. We have resolved to let the law guide us. The police will enforce regulations firmly, whether people complain or not. Kazembe also said that deploying an electronic traffic management system will be a priority this year. He said: Technology doesn’t discriminate – it does not care about your face, relationship, or status. It ensures fairness and holds everyone accountable. By the end of this year, we will have this solution in place, and it will end the chaos on our roads. He also urged drivers to follow traffic laws and called on the public to work with the police in maintaining safety standards. Kazembe warned that reckless drivers and lawbreakers would face severe penalties, with measures being implemented to deter such behaviour. Source

*Top Causes of Truck Collisions and How to Avoid Them* *Follow Our Channel* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaM08D9BPzjU3mQyTq0w Top Causes of Truck Collisions and How to Avoid Them Truck collisions can lead to severe injuries for all involved, as well as significant damages to other vehicles. There are a number of reasons why a truck can end up causing a collision, and it is important to know what they are to know how to avoid them. Some of the most common causes of truck collisions include the following. Drowsy Driving One of the top causes of truck accidents is driving while drowsy or tired. If a truck driver is too tired, they may not be able to react in time to anything on the road, which can cause an accident. Drivers are required to take breaks after a specific number of hours on the road, but this doesn’t mean they’re ready to drive. Someone who has been in an accident with a truck driver who was driving while drowsy can get help by talking to a truck accident attorney. Impaired Driving Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is another leading cause of truck accidents, but impaired driving isn’t limited to illegal drugs or alcohol. It is also not a good idea to drive after taking some medications, as they can cause the driver to be too drowsy to properly react to what’s happening on the road around them. Drivers should read all labels of their medications before driving and avoid driving if they feel drowsy at all. Distracted Driving If a driver isn’t paying attention to the road, they are more likely to cause an accident. Distracted driving can include everything from changing the radio station to texting while driving or having a bite to eat. Everyone who is driving should make sure their full attention is on the road ahead. For important phone calls, texts, a bite to eat, or anything else that can take their attention from the road, it’s best to find a safe place to pull over. Poor Road Conditions If the weather is poor, it can lead to an increase in the number of accidents on the road. Driving while the road is wet can be incredibly dangerous, especially for large trucks that need more room to come to a complete stop. If the weather is poor, drivers should make sure their headlights are on and leave more space between vehicles, especially trucks, to help prevent accidents. Speeding or Aggressive Driving Driving too fast can be another cause of accidents, as can driving aggressively. Truck drivers will need more space to slow to a stop, so if they are speeding, it can cause dangerous situations where they’re unable to stop in time if there is anything in the road ahead of them. Aggressive driving, such as switching lanes improperly or tailgating, can also increase the chance of an accident. Driving carefully and following local laws can help to prevent truck accidents. Inadequate Training Truck drivers must have adequate training and hours behind the wheel before they are able to drive. However, it is possible to rent trucks, which may mean an inexperienced driver is behind the wheel. This can increase the potential for an accident, as they may not know how to respond to certain situations. The best way to prevent this is through practice and training before driving a truck on the road. If you’ve been involved in a truck accident, talk to a lawyer about the situation to learn more about how they can help you. If the other driver was at fault, you may be able to get compensation for your injuries and vehicle damages. Schedule a consultation now to learn more.

Supporters of Chiwenga have praised the prediction, seeing it as a potential turning point for the country.
