He also assured MPs that Uganda's nominal debt as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product is at 46.80 percent as of 2023/2024, saying this is below the projected debt of 47.9 percent. "The debt is expected to be sustainable in the next financial years and over the medium term."

State Minister for Finance, Hon. Henry Musasizi is leading a team from the Ministry to respond to queries by MPs' on the proposed 2025/2026 Budget. Musasizi told MPs on the Budget Committee that government requires 10 years to clear all its outstanding domestic arrears provided that no more arrears arise.
