UPDATE: Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi attacks Nandi senator Samson Cherargei over his resign sentiments against Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen. Sudi says that those sentiments are indirectly hurled to president Ruto. He challenges the senator to openly declare his loyalty to DCP Party leader Gachagua's camp.

I thought ni Lawi Arap Korir. Anyway l am almost sympathising with this officer but you know, people have take responsibility. Mtego wa panya hushika waliomo na wasiokuwemo. Also, l doubt whether CCTV cameras in major police stations around the country are operational let alone being tampered with. Those things are just "mfwano." Kama kubadilisha bulb ndio hua shida , CCTV wataweza. It is also my view that In future police officers should be made to wear body cameras, suspects who were in adjacent cells should be protected witnesses so that they can reveal whether they heard any screams and that professional counsellors should step in to assist in the emotional and mental well-being of the family during this difficult time.

UPDATE: The High Court in Nairobi has dismissed a petition seeking to compel the State to disburse public funds to all registered political parties, ruling that doing so would encourage the commercialisation of Kenya's political space. Justice Lawrence Mugambi upheld the current funding criteria in the Political Parties Act, 2011, which requires a party to have at least one elected representative and physical offices in at least 24 counties to qualify for funding from the Political Parties Fund. The judge says Parliament had acted within its constitutional mandate in enacting the law, adding that there is no evidence of unconstitutionality or discrimination in the requirements. He notes that political representation is the bedrock of party formation and that any outfit seeking public funding must demonstrate an ability to compete in elections.
