Having ungrateful children can be one of the hardest trials for any parent. After years of sacrifice, love, and care, it is only natural to expect appreciation. The pain becomes heavier when parents tie their happiness to their children's recognition. Instead of letting it get to you, focus on fulfilling your duty for Allah’s sake and leave the rest to Him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) faced challenges even from those closest to him, yet he remained patient and relied on Allah. In the same way, parents should keep doing their best, pray for their children, and trust that Allah sees every effort. Why Should We Do It for Allah? *1. Allah Sees Everything* Even if no one notices the long hours spent in the kitchen, the patience it takes to care for a sick child, or the sacrifices made to provide for the family, Allah sees it all. He is Al-Basir, the All-Seeing. Every act of kindness, every sleepless night, and every effort—big or small—is recorded with Him. *2. It Becomes an Act of Worship* When we cook for our family, clean our homes, or support our spouses with the intention of pleasing Allah, these actions become acts of worship. Just as we pray, fast, and give zakat, our everyday duties can bring us immense reward if done sincerely for Him. *3. It Protects Our Hearts from Bitterness* Many people feel exhausted in their family roles because they are constantly waiting for validation. They want to hear “thank you” or see their efforts reciprocated. But when we do things for Allah, we are free from this expectation.
