The Cayman Islands Government has approved drafting instructions to amend the Immigration (Transition) Act as part of the first phase of private sector immigration reform. Proposed changes include: โ๏ธ Creation of a national workforce database and workforce plan โ๏ธ Updates to work permits, PR, RERC, and Right to Be Caymanian processes โ๏ธ New compliance measures and revenue-generating regulations โ๏ธ Stronger enforcement tools to protect Caymanian employment โ๏ธ Formal collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce to develop a National Workforce Plan These changes aim to increase job opportunities for Caymanians, improve coordination across government, and ensure our immigration framework meets the evolving needs of the country. ๐ฅ Watch recorded messages from Premier Hon.
