Hello! As part of our work, we urge MPs to speak out about democratic backsliding in India. Our MPs are voted by us to be our representatives, so it is vital that we call upon them to raise our concerns and amplify our voices within the UK Parliament. Now, the Platform is launching *‘The Democracy Draft’*, where each month we provide our supporters with a template letter and specific questions for their MP to raise in Parliament. The more of us who ask our MPs to take a stand, the more awareness we can raise, the more accountability we can create. Please find our first template letter and guidance on the link below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sslfzovDeWosD1iepqsdmmAiz3WJ8aW6urHG4R8odkw/edit?usp=sharing For our first democracy draft, we are asking more general questions related to democracy in India. For future editions, please do send important issues or topics to [email protected] To keep track of how MPs are responding to the situation in India, we would be very grateful if you could forward any responses you receive to [email protected] Thank you for joining us as we raise our voices for India. For *ALL* India. Our Best Wishes, the team at Platform for Indian Democracy

Just a quick reminder that the curator-led tour of the SOAS exhibition "(Un)Layering the Future Past of South Asia: Young Artists’ Voices" is happening soon on Saturday, June 14th at the SOAS Gallery. Organised by the Platform for Indian Democracy and led by co-curator Manmeet K. Walia, it’s a great opportunity to explore powerful work by young South Asian artists. We’ll also be having an informal Q&A with the Platform team afterwards, please do come along!
