🤝 About 250 youth have come together as part of the West Australian Youth Conference, coinciding with a broader state-wide initiative to mobilise, support, and intensify youth service efforts during the summer school holiday break. Marking the beginning of a long-term learning process to organise and sustain youth conferences, the three-day event aimed to encourage participants to reflect on the role of the Baha’i institute process in the building of communities, increase engagement in Book 1 and institute camps, and build the capacity of friends to serve as facilitators and tutors. https://horizons.bahai.org.au/community-stories/west-australian-youth-inspired-to-build-stronger-communities/

📑 In this personal reflection, Lindi Pelkowitz shares how her small community in Western Australia studied components from the recent Baha’i Summer School program, allowing those who weren’t present at the camp to feel they were part of it while also presenting the opportunity to study, reflect and consult on elevated topics in a bid to spur on the community-building work. "Although we are a small group in the Midwest of Western Australia, we all left the Feast feeling optimistic and with the desire “to have conversation with others that are safe havens”." https://horizons.bahai.org.au/individual-initiatives/using-the-bahai-feast-as-an-opportunity-to-further-reflect-on-summer-school-materials/

☀️ The Australian Baha’i summer schools have attracted hundreds of Baha’is and well-wishers of humanity as they have explored how to further the community-building efforts in their own localities in alignment with the needs of the current Nine Year Plan. Taking place in various settings across the country, the summer schools were held during January with people of all ages gathering in a spirit of unity and joy to explore various themes. Carefully crafted sessions for children and junior youth were a main feature of each summer school, with the gatherings also filled with art, performance, recreation and wholesome food. https://horizons.bahai.org.au/bahai-institutions/summer-schools-solidify-vision-of-service-and-sacrifice/

🤝 In this personal reflection, year 12 student Safira Shanks talks about how the junior youth group in Wongan Hills, a rural town about 180kms north of Perth in the the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, is being supported by a number of people of all ages, leading to bonds being strengthened between both young and old. "...this arrangement has allowed for meaningful relationships to be built between older community members and the youth." https://horizons.bahai.org.au/individual-initiatives/junior-youth-group-in-wongan-hills-strengthening-bonds-between-young-and-old/
