*Tri-Service Special Forces Exercise ‘Desert Hunt 2025’ Conducted In Jodhpur* The Indian Air Force successfully conducted Exercise Desert Hunt 2025, an integrated Tri-Service Special Forces drill, at Air Force Station Jodhpur from February 24 to 28. This high-intensity exercise brought together elite units, including the Para (Special Forces) of the Indian Army, the Marine Commandos (MARCOS) of the Indian Navy, and the Garud Special Forces of the Indian Air Force, to operate in a simulated combat environment. Designed to enhance interoperability, coordination, and synergy among the three Special Forces units, the exercise tested their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to evolving security threats. Key training components included airborne insertion, precision strikes, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism operations, combat free falls, and urban warfare scenarios—all conducted under realistic battlefield conditions. Senior military officials oversaw the exercise to validate joint operational doctrines and assess combat readiness. *₹2,000 Crore Push for Defence Modernization: Coast Guard, Armed Forces Set to Get Key Upgrades* The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹1,220.12 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to procure 149 state-of-the-art Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The acquisition falls under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, reinforcing India’s commitment to indigenous defence manufacturing. According to the Ministry, these next-generation SDRs will enhance secure and reliable communication, ensuring high-speed data transmission and encrypted voice connectivity. *India, Malaysia Identify Key Areas To Boost Defence Ties* At the 13th Malaysia-India Defence Cooperation Committee (MIDCOM) meeting held in Kuala Lumpur on February 19, India and Malaysia reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral defence ties, highlighting the steady growth of military engagements between the two nations in recent years. Co-chaired by India’s Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Malaysia’s Defence Ministry Secretary General Lokman Hakim Bin Ali, the discussions covered a wide range of initiatives aimed at expanding defence cooperation through practical and effective measures. *Bharat Forge To Supply Made-in-India Advanced Artillery Cannons To US* Bharat Forge’s subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with US-based AM General to supply Made-in-India advanced artillery cannons.
