Bomb attacks in Colombia injure six Analysts say security has deteriorated significantly in Colombia under President Gustavo Petro's peace efforts, which has seen a relaxation in the state's military offensive against armed groups © Schneyder Mendoza Guerrilla fighters carried out four bomb attacks that wounded six people in northeast Colombia overnight, officials said Thursday, stoking concerns for a fragile peace process. The police and military blamed the ELN group, with which the government called off peace talks last month, for the attacks in a restive region near Colombia's border with Venezuela. A car bomb all but destroyed a toll booth outside the city of Villa del Rosario, while explosives also detonated at police stations in the same city and in neighbouring Cucuta, police commander General William Quintero told W Radio.

Two foreigners among 4 arrested for running fake university, issuing bogus Masters and PhD degrees The suspects following their arrest. Four suspects have been arrested and arraigned for issuing irregular Master's and PhD degrees and operating a university without accreditation. The four, among them two foreign nationals, were arrested by sleuths drawn from Bamburi Police Station at the phony institution housed at the White Sands Hotel in Mombasa County. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the suspects namely Dayis Lawrence Bennett (American citizen), Farah Akab (Pakistani national), Ekra Ndung'u and Josephine Ndune were caught red-handed while issuing certifications to three-day students.
