SRC suspends Zim netball boss The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has suspended long serving Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) president Letitia Chipandu from all forms of netball administration with immediate effect. In a statement released on Friday, the sport governing body revealed that the suspension is a result of the investigations conducted by the SRC on the challenges prevailing within the Zimbabwe Netball Association administration and structures. The suspension will also subsist until ZINA elections are held. "The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) wishes to advise the public and netball stakeholders that the President of the Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) Mrs Leticia Chipandu has been suspended as an official responsible for the stewardship and strategic direction of the Zimbabwe Netball Association, and from all forms of netball administration in Zimbabwe with immediate effect," read the statement by the SRC. "This is in terms of Section 30(1)(c)(i) as read with Section 19(a), (b) and (c) and paragraph 23 of the second schedule of the Sports and Recreation Act (Chapter 25:15) and shall subsist until such a time when the next ZINA elections are held. "The suspension is as result of the investigations conducted by the SRC on the challenges prevailing within the Zimbabwe Netball Association administration and structures," added the SRC. Chipandu has been at the helm of local netball since 2002 and was reelected unopposed at the elective annual general meeting in Harare back in 2022. Last month, the SRC SRC invited all netball fraternity that is athletes, officials , administrators , sponsors and partners for stakeholders engagement meeting. And the latest development is a calmination of the engagement. In 2024 a petition for the ouster of Chipandu was launched by some member of the netball community and gained a lot of traction prompting the SRC to finally take action. Interestingly, Zimbabwe has qualified for two consecutive netball World Cups under the leadership of Chipandu. https://zimsportlive.co.zw/src-suspends-zim-netball-boss/ Follow our WhatsApp Channel: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaZChmL7DAX6D6DZz63a

Vincent shoots brilliant 61 to lead at Waterfall City Tournament of Champions By Zim Sport Live JOHANNESBURG, Gauteng – Zimbabwean Kieran Vincent produced a magnificent 11-under-par 61 to surge into a four-stroke lead of the Waterfall City Tournament of Champions supported by Attacq and WCMC at Royal Johannesburg on Saturday. Vincent didn’t drop a single shot in an incredible round of golf on the famed East Course and over this composite nine-hole set-up specifically designed for this tournament. The Zimbabwean leads on 16 under par and is chasing his second Sunshine Tour title. “I’ve been playing some good golf and my team has been working really hard behind the scenes to get to this point, and we were talking about how good golf is just in front of me. I think we’re seeing glimpses of this now,” said Vincent. His nearest challenger is Daniel van Tonder, last season’s winner of The Courier Guy Order of Merit on the Sunshine Tour, on 12 under par following a third round of 66. Vincent made the most of his Saturday and rolled in five birdies on the front nine and then six birdies on the back, including five birdies in a row. It was a better start than his triple bogey on his first hole in the second round. But thereafter on Friday Vincent made a string of birdies and was clearly still in that frame of mind on Saturday. “I made a bunch of birdies coming in yesterday and kept that momentum today. I was a bit nervous after the triple bogey start yesterday so I just wanted to get through the first hole and see a putt go in today. We got lucky in that stretch of five birdies in a row, and I’m just thankful.” Pieter Moolman, a winner of the South African PGA Championship, is in third place on 10 under par following a round of 69. Tandi McCallum is the leading Sunshine Ladies Tour professional on one under par following her third round of 69. – Michael Vlismas Media https://zimsportlive.co.zw/vincent-shoots-brilliant-61-to-lead-at-waterfall-city-tournament-of-champions/ Follow our WhatsApp Channel https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaZChmL7DAX6D6DZz63a
