🌍 As we approach #ParentingMonth, we're amplifying a critical message: "To break this cycle of violence, we must ensure early childhood development programs are recognized as lifesaving." ~ Dr. Rima Salah, Chair, ECPC - Early Childhood Peace Consortium Dr. Salah's urgent call, delivered at the Conference on Child Rights in Times of War and Crises, highlights something profound: Early Childhood Development isn't just beneficial—it's lifesaving. For parents everywhere, this means recognizing that the support systems, programs, and resources we advocate for today directly impact our children's resilience, growth, and future. Whether facing everyday challenges or extraordinary circumstances, quality ECD programs provide the foundation children need to thrive. At Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN), we echo this sentiment. When we say ECD is "lifesaving," we're committing to empowering parents and caregivers with evidence-based tools and resources that foster resilience and nurture every child's potential. Together with World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, International Rescue Committee, Parenting for Lifelong Health, we're strengthening families worldwide. Children and young people are disproportionately affected by climate change, yet their voices are often missing from climate policy. UNICEF's new toolkit provides guidance for developing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for and with children and youth.
