It has been a busy week for the Leytonstone Neighbourhood Policing Team who joined forces with colleagues from the emergency response team to provide fast time responses to residents on the ward. This combined with hugely improved reporting from businesses has meant that in over 50% of reported cases, officers have been able to respond, identify and detain offenders committing both shoplifting and robbery offences on Leytonstone High Road. This has resulted in a number of arrests.

One offender has been identified and charged with multiple theft and robbery offences occurring in Leytonstone and is due in court later today. The teams have also prosecuted two individuals for drugs possession, issued a number of warnings and final notices to individuals for anti-social behaviour and arrested an individual being sought under a recall to prison.

A male has also been charged with the burglary of a business premises having been found at the location by police. He awaits a court appearance in March.

This week the Leyton & Grove Green teams have been working alongside emergency response teams and proactive units to target drug offences, related anti-social behaviour and theft offences on the ward. This action has seen multiple warnings and final notices being issued to those acting anti-socially. Officers have also detained and prosecuted a number offenders found in possession of illegal drugs and weapons.

Police Licensing Team visited Portsmouth University E17 to speak to the new intake of international students about Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), the dangers of Spiking and offering some Crime Prevention tips on how to stay safe.

Leytonstone and Forest wards conducted foot patrols in the area of Leytonstone Underground Station, Church Lane, Grove Green, High Road Leytonstone, Gainsborough Rd , Dyers Hall Rd, and nearby streets where residents reported ASB concerns

A passive drug dog operation took place yesterday at Walthamstow Central with 2 Passive Drug Dogs from Alpha Canine. Multiple people were stopped and searched, and several controlled substances were seized.
