Job Title: Senior Engineer, Radio Planning and Optimization Reporting To: Optimization Manager Job Purpose: The Senior Engineer, Radio Planning and Optimization is responsible for monitoring and optimizing 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G base stations within the assigned region. This role includes engaging and supervising suppliers and subcontractors, using planning, configuration, and optimization tools to design, plan, and optimize network nodes across all technologies. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and optimize the performance of 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G base cells in the region. • Engage with and supervise suppliers and subcontractors for 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G networks. • Use planning, configuration, and optimization tools such as ASSET, U2020, and OSS to design, plan, optimize, and configure various network nodes across all technologies. • Produce weekly and monthly performance statistics reports for 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G access networks. • Execute proactive optimization and drive test plans based on regional clusters and predefined routes. • Supervise and manage regional optimization routine tasks. • Provide input for the annual site rollout plan, ensuring the achievement of desired coverage, quality, and capacity in a cost-effective manner. • Prepare and submit work orders for upgrades in a timely and accurate manner. • Ensure accurate preparation of cell data and adherence to new site checklist. • Regularly update the planning tool to reflect live network configurations. • Propose and implement parameter changes under the guidance of the Optimization Manager. • Prepare regional drive test plans and produce related monthly reports. • Manage change control processes for all radio parameters on nodes within the respective region. Other Pertinent Information: • The candidate must be willing to travel frequently for drive tests and work long hours as required. Qualifications: • Technical/Academic Qualifications: o BSc in Electrical Engineering or Telecom Engineering. Experience: • Must have expert-level knowledge in telecommunications with significant experience in Radio Planning and Optimization, particularly in wireless technologies such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, VoLTE, and NR. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Optimization and Planning. Skills and Competencies: • In-depth understanding of radio planning, configuration, and optimization. • Proficient in using optimization tools like ASSET, U2020, and OSS. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance statistics and make data-driven decisions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and supervise suppliers and subcontractors effectively. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
