The Nifty rollover for the January expiry stood at 80.7%, higher than December's 77.7% and well above the three-month average of 76.6%. The index saw a price decline of 2.1%, closing at 23,418 compared to the previous 23,920. Notably, open interest surged by 49.8%, beginning at 181.08 lakh contracts in February, up from 120.87 lakh contracts in January. The Bank Nifty rollover for the January expiry stood at 79.1%, significantly higher than December's 67.8% and above the three-month average of 71.3%. The index registered a 3.95% decline, closing at 49,687 compared to 51,728. Open interest rose by 43.3%, starting at 31.3 lakh contracts in February, up from 21.90 lakh contracts in January.
