A free discussion group on 'getting teenagers to cooperate' is available to parents of children aged 10-16 to help build relationships. The Positive Parenting Teen Discussion Group will held at 5-7pm on Tuesday 25 February at Positive Steps on Union Street, OL1 1DJ. To book please email [email protected]


A free course can help you to support your child if they're feeling anxious about the move to secondary school.📚 Youth Connect 5 Transit, for children aged eight to 11, is a five week course held for two hours each week Sessions will help parents to build independence and resilience so they can cope better with change and difficult situations. It also supports the transition through puberty. A new course will be held at St Marys Primary School, Clive Road, Failsworth, M35 0NW, at 1-3pm on Wednesday 5 March. Parents and carers of neurodivergent children are invited to attend a free course. Youth Connect 5 is a fun, interactive five-week course to help your children develop strong emotional wellbeing and cope with difficult or stressful situations. It works best for parents of children aged 8-16yrs. It will be held on Thursdays at Greenacres Community Centre on Galland Street OL23HS from 27 February and you can attend at 12.30-2.30pm or 6-8pm. Two hours is all you need for help becoming a more confident parent Our free Positive Parenting Teen Discussion Group on 'getting teenagers to cooperate' encourages positive behaviour, sets realistic boundaries and offers help in becoming a confident parent. It will be held on 1-3pm on Monday 10 March at Failsworth Town Hall, Oldham Road M35 0EJ. In a relaxed group session, you will meet other parents/carers and share some of your experiences and ideas about being a parent/carer of a teenager and how to manage difficult behaviour. Dads and their children are invited to attend a Walk and Talk at the stunning Alexandra Park. 🏞️ Book your place now on the walk, which will take place from 10-11.30am on Tuesday 11 March. A free jungle theme party for little ones and their parents is being held at Beever Family Hub on Friday.🐯 If your baby or toddler has a cute animal costume, dress them up to join in the fun. 🦁 Toddler Sense Oldham and Baby Sensory and Hello Baby Massage will be joining Positive Steps, which helps young people, adults and families to reach their full potential, from 1-3pm. The drop-in is an opportunity for parents to access local services, find the help and support they need and chat to the Early Years team at Positive Steps.
