Saturday Night Beer Review ... February 1, 2025 Slow Hand Beer Co., 'Doppelganger' Doppelbock ๐ป What if you opened the door to your home only to see yourself standing in front of you? Not a person of similar appearance, but you; your duplicate, your clone, your doppelganger! Your copy standing before you gazes into your eyes with a cold, blank stare, but with it comes an understanding that it knows your thoughts. It knows how you are feeling in this moment. Panic naturally sets in, followed by denial, fear, and finally acceptance. This roller-coaster of emotions has transpired over the course of a single blink. You know, oh yes you know, a decision has to be made. There is no time to 'form a committee' or 'hire a consultant' like a group of indecisive middle managers. So, what are you going to do? I don't know about you, but I'm going 'John Wick' on this bitch's familiar ass; Hell no, son, I ain't going out like that! I toast to decisiveness! I toast to survival! In my cup is a stunning doppelbock. Malty, fragrant, smooth, rich, and just a hint of sweetness. It has a complex taste with so many flavors it's tough to isolate each one. Perfection. I just wish I had someone who could also appreciate it to share it with.

Saturday Night Beer Review ... February 8, 2025 Mariner Brewing 'Winter โ๏ธ Ale' ๐ป "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated"; a famous quote by Mark Twain from 1897 following published reports from hoaxers of his untimely demise. What was not to believe? Respected papers published it. Eager to sell copies and fearful of missing the headline that their competitors would certainly seize, papers rushed to the presses, conveniently ignoring the prudent step of confirming. In our lifetime, another elderly man has had his demise called many times, yet he fights on; sometimes appearing sickly, other times fierce and robust; but definitely not dead or dying. Morgan Freeman? No, but good guess. Old man Winter; Almost twenty years ago, Al Gore famously called for Mr. Winter's demise by 2016. Yet this year, he came with that terrifying old man strength, signaling Mr. Winter will collect his pension for many years to come. I toast to longevity, to old dudes that can still kick ass, and to people who are always wrong and still somehow have an audience. In my cup, a lovely dark Ale, malty, fragrant, and flavorful. Warm spices permeate, the perfect pint to celebrate that winter is mostly behind us.

Saturday Night Beer Review ... February 15, 2025 Trading Post Brew Co. Double IPA ๐ป A U.S. invasionary force could be preparing to enter our country, the True North, which, until now, has largely remained glorious and free. Are you prepared? Of course you arenโt! Only months ago, this seemed an impossibility, the mere mention of which would have been met with a deep, roaring belly laugh dripping with ridicule. Now, however, the laugh is a nervous one, and the mention is accompanied by desperate glances seeking reassurance that the thought is still absurd. Some of us will undoubtedly resist the invasion, while others will throw roses at the feet of the shock troopers, viewing them instead as liberators. Yet, a surge in patriotismโa โMaple ๐ Prideโโhas emerged. Whether it is genuine or manufactured is a matter for another debate. Early adopters of social causes have eagerly embraced it, tossing aside their flags of Ukraine, Palestine, BLM, and the various iterations of the alphabet peopleโs battle standards. In their place, theyโve raised a symbol once representing nationhood, freedom, and unity: ๐จ๐ฆ. Ask yourselves, why did it take this to do so? I drink to Canada, whether it faces survival or demise. In my cup is a beautiful double IPAโtropical, fruity, and hazy in style. It carries a hint of sweetness, juicy, smooth, and refreshing. Canadian beer has always been superior. ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ/5 My 16th 5โฃ! ๐บ - โน ๐บ๐บ -ย ๐ ๐บ๐บ๐บ - ๐ ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ - ๐ ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บย -ย ๐ 115

Saturday Night Beer Review ... February 22, 2025 Changing Colours Brewing. "Repeater" Unfiltered Pilsner ๐ป Repetition is the key to mastery. Itโs the process that makes tasks instinctual, embedding them into the neural networks of the brain. It transforms actions into something reflexive, robotic, fluid-like, becoming indistinguishable from the personโs very self. Picture a guitarist strumming a complex riff with the same apparent effort weโd use to simply blink. But repetition also breeds conviction. When people hear a statement twice, theyโre more likely to believe itโto accept it as truthโthan if theyโd heard it only once. It doesnโt even matter if what theyโre hearing is actually true. This is the mindโs greatest gift, but also its vulnerability. Keep it in mind when you hear the same talking points parroted at you. Youโre being programmed through repetition, and your mind canโt help but play along. I raise my glass to sudsy beer, the instrument that cleanses your neural pathways from predatory repetition. In my cup: a biscuity pilsner, surprisingly flavorful for the style, yet still clean and crisp. A wonderful everyday beerโwithout ever feeling repetitive.
