City Power is back on the streets of Johannesburg CBD, intensifying efforts to recover outstanding debt and eliminate illegal connections. The team is currently on Main Street in Marshalltown, where a particular building has been found owing over a million rand to City Power. Upon inspection, the team discovered that the customer had breached and bypassed the electricity meter, rendering it non-compliant. Additionally, an illegal connection was found on the premises, further compromising the integrity of the electricity network. These unlawful activities not only contribute to revenue loss but also pose a significant safety hazard to residents and businesses in the area. The team is currently on Hopkins Street in Bellevue, inspecting one of the buildings that has been difficult for City Power to access. Upon entry, an illegal connection was immediately discovered.
