*TEAM FROM CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF TAXATION OF NIGERIA (CITN) PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR* On Wednesday, 11th June 2025, a team from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, ahead of the Institute’s 8th Annual International Conference on Taxation scheduled to hold in August this year. The team was received on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academics), Professor Oseni Afisi at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room on the 6th floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos. The Team Lead and Chairman, CITN International Conference Organising Committee, Professor Suleiman Aruwa, stated in his remarks that amongst the several universities that expressed interest in hosting the conference this year, Lagos State University was selected and the main purpose of the visit was to inspect facilities and inaugurate the Local Organising Committee (LOC). He averred that the team was impressed by the facilities and infrastructures available on the campus and commended the university management while also encouraging the university to sponsor its staff to the conference. Professor Aruwa noted that the conference, which is dedicated to addressing themes and sub-themes on taxation, will also hold a PhD colloquium. In her response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academics), Professor Oseni Afisi, expressed excitement at receiving the team, and appreciated the CITN for finding Lagos State University worthy of hosting the institute’s 8th international conference. She equally assured the team that all the support that is needed by the LOC to make the conference a success will be given. The Registrar, Mr Emmanuel A. FANU, ably represented by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Staff Establishment (ASE), Mr Samuel Otesanya, gave the vote of thanks. In attendance at the meeting was the University Bursar, Mr Said Babatunde Olayinka, FCA, represented by Deputy Bursar, Mr Kunle Odunlami; the University Librarian, Dr Omawunmi Makinde; Director, Centre for Financial Forensic Investigation and Analytics (CFFIA), Professor James Kehinde; and Chairman, LOC, Dr Patricia Osamor. *DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIONS AND PEACE STUDIES SET TO HOLD LECTURE SERIES II ON TUESDAY, 17TH JUNE 2025* The Department of Religions and Peace Studies, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University is set to hold its lecture series II as follows: *Theme*: *"Religion, Conflict and Violence in a Pluralistic Society: A Study Of Inter-Religious Interactions In Nigeria"* *Date*: Tuesday, 17th June 2025 *Time*: 11.00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. *Venue*: Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos *Lecturer*: Professor Oguntola-Laguda Danoye, a professor of Philosophy of Religion, Department of Religions and Peace Studies, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University. The aim of the lecture series, is to advance knowledge on the role of religious dialogue on preventing conflict and violence in Nigeria. *Guests are expected to be seated by 10.30 a.m.*


*REMINDER: INDECENT DRESSING AMONG STUDENTS* The Vice Chancellor having *noted* the continuous disregard for the University’s rules and regulations on indecent dressing by students has directed that: i. Provost, Deans, Heads of Departments and Faculty Officers should ensure decent dressing among students within their various College/Schools/Faculties; ii. all lecturers are to deny any indecently dressed students from attending lectures. In view of the above, and for clarity, the following are modes of dressing which constitute indecent dressing among students of Lagos State University: 1. Wearing transparent dresses, mini and skimpy skirts/dresses, and other clothes revealing sensitive parts of the body. 2. Wearing tattered, dirty jeans with holes or obscene subliminal messages. 3. Wearing “baggy”, “saggy”, “yansh”, “ass level”, and any other form of indecent trousers. 4. Wearing of tight fitting apparels; wearing clothes that reveal sensitive parts of the body. 5. Wearing shirts and tops with obscene, obnoxious or seductive inscription. 6. Wearing shirts without buttons, improperly buttoned, rolling of sleeves or flying collar. 7. Wearing of face caps or complete covering of face (very dark glasses). 8. Piercing of body and tattooing. 9. Wearing of ear rings and necklace by male students. 10. Wearing of nose ring, very big dropping ear rings and necklaces by students. 11. Wearing of distractive knocking shoes like stiletto heels to lecture rooms and the Library. 12. Plaiting, weaving or bonding of hair by male students. 13. Wearing of slippers. 14. Wearing of lousy, unkempt, extremely bogus hair or coloured artificial hair, brightly tinted hair/eye lashes/brown, fixing of long eye lashes, artificial dreadlock. 15.
