Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA)was established on the 5th of February 1964, In response to the defense needs of independent Nigeria to train officer's for the Army Force of Nigeria This is the administrative hub of the *NDA* . It is headed by the Commandant who is responsible to the NDA Council chaired by the Minister of Defence. The present Commandant of NDA is Major General *JO OCHAI* . The Deputy Commandant assists the Commandant in the implementation of general policies and training. *AVM ABUBAKAR ABDULKADIR* is the current Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies. The Adjutant, Assistant Adjutant, and Academy RSM are also part of the headquarters. ๐ค๐ฟ

*PRESS RELEASE* *NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY ANNOUNCES POSTPONEMENT OF 77 REGULAR COURSE SCREENING TEST* The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) recently announced the rewriting of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by candidates in some parts of the country. In view of this development, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) wishes to inform the general public and all applicants to the 77 Regular Course that the NDA Screening Test earlier scheduled for Saturday 24 May 2025 has been postponed. This decision is consequent upon the NDA's respect for equal opportunity and to avoid disenfranchisement of any candidate. A new date for the screening test will be announced in due course. The NDA remains dedicated to upholding the integrity of the admissions process and ensuring that each candidate is given a fair opportunity.

*PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT* The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) wishes to inform the general public and specifically, all applicants of the 77 Regular Course that the screening process for the 2025 admission cycle is underway, Candidates who applied and participated in the 2025 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected NDA as their first choice are required to take note of the following information; - Candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the UTME for all courses except engineering courses which requires a minimum score of 210. - Only candidates that meet these minimum scores will be eligible to select a centre and participate in the NDA Screening Test. The NDA Screening Test is scheduled to take place nationwide on 24 May 2025. Successful candidates from the screening test will be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board(AFSB) at the "NDA OLD SITE" where they will undergo comprehensive medical, physical, mental evaluations and other tests. The final list of admitted candidates will be published in national dailies and on NDA website.


Admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is strictly by merit. The institution emphasizes that it does not ask for money to influence admission, ensuring a fair selection process. To be eligible, applicants must meet specific requirements, including : - *Academic Qualifications*: Five O-level credits in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings. - *UTME Score*: A minimum score of 180 for Arts and Social Sciences, and 210 for Engineering courses. - *Age and Height*: Applicants must be between 17 and 21 years old, with a minimum height of 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females. - *Medical and Physical Fitness*: Candidates must be medically and physically fit, with a BMI between 18.5 and 25.5 kg/mยฒ. The selection process involves a screening test, followed by an Armed Forces Selection Board assessment. Only candidates who meet the requirements and pass Entrance Exams are invited for the armed forces selection board and offered admission.
