Let me paint it raw: Over 𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗦 are born into poverty. Me? I’m part of that statistic. Born broke. Programmed broke. Thought broke. I had to fight tooth and nail to rewire my thinking. To kill that “poverty programming” I inherited. 𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘. 𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗡. 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗠𝗬 𝗝𝗢𝗕. I remember the date like yesterday... 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮. That’s when this crazy journey kicked off. Before that? One of my business buddies ( Victor, shout out to you!) was always in my ear — “Bro, come on board now... this thing dey pay!” But me? I was forming “busy”... ignoring him left, right, and center. Victor is someone who can juggle many things at the same time, But I didn't want that for myself. And truly, I was busy. I usually like to focus on one thing per time! So telling me to come engage something else feels like a distraction to me. For 𝟲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀, I kept saying, “I’ll check it out later.” Until one day... I had a heart-to-heart with myself. BRUTAL honesty session. What I was doing back then? It was giving me something. But results were used to service debts. I had even gone in debts and lost access to use the tools I had to make money. Lost thousands of dollars. Sold off my assets to offset some debts. I was like a man that just started out life from zero (financially). I needed a shift. But no funds to get anything started. One evening again, like always, Victor called me and said that a team of leaders are offering to fund my start up in MetaWhale because they knew what I could do to build any business intentionally. They understood how 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 I can be in building any business, if I ever chose to start. It was like an opportunity for a fresh start.. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱. And the beauty of it? I’m not alone. I got my nose broken at school, and many times I felt alone. But that loneliness drove me to learn programming at age 10. I sold my first software at 12.
