"We are slain with the sword, but we increase and multiply; the more we are persecuted and destroyed, the more are deaf to our numbers. As a vine, by being pruned and cut close, shoots forth new suckers, and bears a greater abundance of fruit; so is it with us," said St. Justin Martyr.

70,000 people filled St. Peter's Square for the closing Mass of the Jubilee of Families, Children, Grandparents and the Elderly this morning. In his homily, Pope Leo XIV reflected on the example of holy families and stressed that the family is where faith is handed on from generation to generation — “it is shared like food at the family table and like love in our hearts.” Therefore, the family is a privileged place to meet Jesus.
