Nigeria 🇳🇬; 95% of students currently studying *agricultural/aquacultural-related courses* in higher institutions never showed interest before gaining admission. Furthermore, *95℅ of the agricultural/aquacultural -related graduates* are not currently practising agriculture. 60℅ of the course content in *agricultural/aquacultural-related* fields is obsolete. These are the issues we need to tackle before we can feed ourselves and earn more from Agriculture and Aquaculture. Remember, Nigeria was the leading palm oil producer before Malaysia happened. Nigeria was the leading cocoa producer before the Ivory Coast happened. Nigeria is the current leading catfish producer, but we don't know the country that will happen soon, unless something is done. 📸 : Prodave visit to one of the biggest fish farms in Tanzania 🇹🇿 for the love 💙 of the blue 🔵 food 🐟 #Catfishpreneur #Prodave #fishfarmingbusiness #aquaculture #agribusiness

Children’s Day Message: “Little Footsteps, Big Future” Happy Children’s Day! Today, we celebrate the bright smiles, curious minds, and boundless energy of our children—the little footsteps that are already marching toward a big, beautiful future. This year, with the theme “Little Footsteps, Big Future,” we’re reminded that every small step our children take today lays the foundation for a greater tomorrow. One of the paths that can guide them toward a brighter and more sustainable world is Aquaculture—the farming of fish and other aquatic life. Aquaculture teaches children the value of nurturing life, protecting the environment, and working in harmony with nature. It opens the door to exciting careers in science, farming, innovation, and environmental care. By learning about aquaculture, children discover how they can help feed the world, preserve our oceans, and create solutions for global challenges. As we walk beside them, let us inspire our children to dream big, act responsibly, and explore how even the smallest of steps—like planting a seed, caring for a fish, or asking a thoughtful question—can lead to a future full of promise. Here’s to our young dreamers, doers, and change-makers. Little footsteps today, a big future tomorrow—powered by knowledge, care, and the wonders of aquaculture. Happy Children’s Day! *PRODAVE*!

"Even a fish wouldn't get into trouble if it kept its mouth shut." This proverb emphasizes the importance of silence and choosing one's words carefully. The meaning, as explained in the image, is that "not every thought deserves a voice" and that silence can protect from unnecessary conflicts. It suggests that knowing when not to speak can be a sign of strength. In fact Silence is Strength. It helps us to win the battels without fighting. The proverb uses the metaphor of a fish getting caught on a hook to highlight how speaking without thinking can lead to problems. The fish that keeps its mouth shut avoids the hook, just as a person who chooses their words wisely avoids trouble. This concept applies to various situations in life. Sometimes, it's better to remain silent than to engage in arguments or share opinions that could cause harm or conflict. It encourages reflection and self-control, reminding us that our words have power and that choosing silence can be a valuable strategy. Silence can be a tool for self-reflection, emotional clarity, and mindfulness. It also allows one to avoid unnecessary arguments or conflicts. Silence can be a way of showing respect for others' perspectives and can be a way of conveying more than words ever could. -Wochanca

*ENTREPRENEURS ON FIRE 🔥; A Call to Farming.* Entrepreneurship involves creativity, God was the first entrepreneur. Since He made us in His image, then we are supposed to be like Him, act like Him and be business minded like him. Jesus said He goes about His father's business. Jesus is a business man. You can be a business man! Humans basic needs are food, Shelter and clothing. All are gotten from agriculture. An improvement in this sector of life is called Agribusiness. Definition: Entrepreneur: This is someone who finds a need, a gap in his environment and fills such a gap, meets the needs and at the same time makes money (profit). It is only passion - fire burning in a man - that can propel a man to find a need. Everyone can and should be an entrepreneur. I shall be laying a focus on fish farming as a business. Fish farming is an aspect of aquaculture that deals in cultivation of fish. There are many aspects (Value chain) that everyone/anyone can key into. Pond making/fabrication, fingerlings production, table size culturing, Drying, feed making & sales, oven fabrication, consultancy etc. Statistics have shown that with population increase, the farmers population too needs to increase to meet up demand for basic needs like food, shelter and clothing. In food, there is need for all important proteins especially the one gotten from fish. Fish farmers are now saddled with the responsibility of providing this protein in order to meet demands. That is a gap needed to be filled. By 2030, ¾ of all fish eaten will be from the fish pond. Are you positioning yourself to be a player in this key industry? Why fish farming? 1. Food business is lucrative. 2. Though capital intensive, you can start small. 3. As explained, there is a need to augment protein deficiency. 4. Technical know-how is available and easy in some key value chains. 5. Nigeria is a large market. 6. It can be a side hustle and provide alternative income. Things you must have before you become a fish farmer. 1. You must have basic knowledge. 2. You should have a guide or mentor. 3. You must have a market. 4. You must have constant clean water. 5. You must have reliable and constant fish farming input suppliers. To learn how to set up a fish farming, visit www.catfishpreneur.wordpress.com Conclusion; In the words of Samson Ogbole; Do not pick agriculture because you don't have a job. Do not pick agriculture as a retirement home/plan. Pick Agriculture because; 1. You see a gap and can fill the gap. 2. You are good at it with a unique value. 3. There is a market willing to pay the price for the value. 📷: Fmr Nigeria President Obasanjo in 2023 #Catfishpreneur #Aquaculture #Agribusiness #Prodave #ProdaveIntegratedFarmsAndServicesLimited

_Dear Amazing AquaChamp_ 🐟 *Let's look at Some Important Pointers When Feeding Your Fish* 🐟 If the fish are not eating, do not feed them it could make matters worse. 🐟 It is better to slightly underfeed than to overfeed. 🐟 Most people overestimate the number of fish they have in their ponds, so they tend to overfeed, even if they use a feed table. Watch how your fish react to feed. 🐟 Feed the proper size pellets. 🐟 Feed the proper number of meals per day based upon the chart. If you split the feed into too many meals, the shooters will take all the feed and the small fish will get none. 🐟 If you start with very small fish and never sort them by size you will likely get high FCR. 🐟 *When water is dirty, do not feed.* *We wish you an amazing Fishful week ahead* *PRODAVE IS GRATEFUL* 🙏
