KGOSI GABORONE OF BOTSWANA (1825-1931) 🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼 The capital city of Botswana, Gaborone,is named after this man,the late Kgosi (King) of Batlokwa.This photo of him was taken by A.M Duggan-Cronin when the king was 103 years old. WHEN KGOSI TSHEKEDI KHAMA WAS LAID TO REST IN SEROWE 🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼 On this day, 66 years ago (June 17, 1959), thousands of Batswana from across the Protectorate gathered in Serowe to pay their last respects to the then former Bangwato regent Kgosi Tshekedi Khama. The great stateman had died in London on June 10th, his body subsequently being flown home for burial at the royal cemetery next to his father, Kgosi Khama III.
