It is the incapacity or the absolute lack of consideration that there can be a failure in meeting those expectations that hits you hard. It is wise to learn that both 'Having expectations' and the 'realisation that it won't be met' can survive together. The capacity to have expectations knowing that it may go unmet is what we call 'HOPE'.
