Having the bible as a guide for us as Christians should be the reason for us to have orderly, organised and uniform beliefs. However, as the ages grow older, different generations come in, and interpretation of the scripture becomes more complex. Human nature and desires override us, and we seem to let us tell the bible what it should be rather than the bible telling us what it should be. But God will be helping us go through some explanations that I've been using and learning from mentors over the years; this will expose us to better ways of interpreting the scripture and listening to digest sermons. You are welcome.
2 Timothy 2:14-16 NIV [14] Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. [15] Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. [16] Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. *Kindly reflect on this*
Over time, the differences and arguments among Christians can be traced to a lack of biblical understanding, but other factors can exist. The issues range from understanding TRINITY, GIVING (TITHE), CONSECRATION, and HOLINESS. If we will come to enjoy the freedom in Christ, we will need to know the truth, and if we will know the truth, we must study to show ourselves approved.
There is no better way to understand or know God better without studying the bible. As much as the Hole Spirit will teach us, there are also things that can guide us into understanding. 2013, I was out for Evangelism. I encountered this young; he should probably be within my age. As I was trying to speak to him about the love of God, I opened the bible and read some scriptures. He paused me and requested to ask some questions. I permitted him, and he asked the following: 1. Who wrote the bible? 2. Is the Bible accurate? 3. Did I know that the bible I carried is not complete? 4. Why do we have different bibles? (He was referring to versions). Lo and behold, all my answers were inaccurate, and I couldn't defend it all. He answered them all for me, but they all lied that day, yet the lie never left me. I was almost losing my faith. In the quest to know the truth, I found myself learning about the bible, and I began to nullify things he said gradually. *WHY MY STORY:* Any time we refuse to have sound Knowledge about the bible, we let heresy spread, and we give room more to unbelievers to sell their lies quickly. *Study to show yourself approved.*
There shall be no fruitless effort this month; there shall be no repeated afflictions, and there shall be no closed doors. No lack, No loss, No limitations. This month, read the bible, pray and exercise your faith. Happy New Month
