It's National Walk to School Week! Why not give it a go this week, and either walk all, or part of the way to school? We're committed to making walking and cycling to school a safe and convenient option for all of our young residents. Our Walking and Cycling strategy ensures smoother routes, safer crossings, and better infrastructure for everyone, and School Travel Plans help schools to access additional funding for things like bike shelters, kit lockers, and local safety improvements. We also offer free walking and cycling safety training for children and adults. If you haven't booked your free place already, why not check out our pedestrian training sessions, helping kids to build confidence when walking near traffic. 🚶‍♀️ May is National Walking Month – and we’re making it easier than ever to walk around Wandsworth. We're repairing pavements across the borough as part of our Decade of Renewal, as well as installing safer pedestrian crossings, and expanding the number of School Streets. We're building a borough where walking is the easy choice. Less reliance on cars. More space for people 🌍 See what’s happening near you 👇 wandsworth.gov.uk/walking

We are set to invest £9m into a wide range of neighbourhood improvements – all part of our Decade of Renewal being paid for by property developers. After listening to residents, we’re delivering new projects in every corner of the borough 🪄 From community safety and more CCTV to playground upgrades and better sports facilities, the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is making local improvements that will directly benefit the communities that live there. The council has also teamed up with local organisations including CREW Energy, Carney’s Community, Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) Wandsworth Town Partnership and STORM Family Centre to deliver exciting new community projects.
