Born in 1950 in Achi, Enugu State, *Anthony Uchenna Ubesie* was a novelist and a cultural torchbearer who used his pen to preserve and promote the richness of Igbo language and heritage. At a time when many were turning away from indigenous languages, Ubesie boldly chose to write his novels in Igbo, proving that our language is powerful, expressive, and capable of deep literary excellence. Among his most celebrated works are: - Ềkwa ruo oge ya o daa - Isi Akwα»₯ Dara Nβala - Jα»₯α» Obinna - Ềkpana Okpoko Buuru These novels remain classics in Igbo literature. They reflect the everyday realities, moral dilemmas, and cultural values of Igbo people. *Tony Ubesie* was also a trained broadcaster and worked with the Anambra State Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Nigeria), where he promoted Igbo arts, drama, and storytelling through the airwaves. Sadly, he passed away in 1994 at the young age of 44, but his legacy lives on through his writings and the countless people he inspired to embrace and elevate the Igbo language. Letβs *honor Tony Ubesie,* a literary hero who used his gift to preserve our language, uplift our stories, and remind us that Igbo amaka β Igbo is beautiful.
