☀️Warm weather - important safety advice ☀️ 🌡️ During the current amber heat alert, remember: 🚗 Vehicle checks - check coolant, tyres, lights, and carry water for the journey! 🏊 Water safety - many drownings happen in inland/coastal waters. If someone’s in trouble, remember... float to live: ° tilt head back, relax, breathe ° move arms and legs gently in a star shape ° swim to safety, if you can, or shout for help. ⚠️ If you see someone in difficulty in the water, call 999 or 112. Never jump in yourself! Please be mindful of the increased risk of large outdoor fires too. You can help reduce the risk: 🍔 avoid disposable BBQs in parks or open spaces 🗑️ don’t leave glass bottles or rubbish behind 🚬 never drop cigarettes outdoors, make sure you put them out, right out! Look out for vulnerable friends, family and neighbours - check in and make sure they're able to keep cool and hydrated! Stay safe and enjoy the weather! ☀️🚒

🔌 🚲 E-bike safety message 🔌 🚲 Natasha and Karlo had their whole lives ahead of them - until a devastating fire in their Coventry home, caused by an e-bike battery, took them from their loved ones forever. Their two beloved dogs also perished in the blaze in November 2024. Their deaths have today been ruled accidental at an inquest hearing in Coventry. The young couple’s families are now sharing their heartbreak, in the hope no-one else has to endure the same pain. This video tells their story - through the voices of firefighters who battled the blaze, the investigator who uncovered the cause and, most importantly, family members who grieve. If you own an e-bike, or know someone who does, please watch and share. Let’s stop this happening again: NEVER charge e-bikes when you’re asleep steer clear of conversion kits regularly check batteries for damage.
