This weekend Councillor Dr. Soryia Siddique found herself the target of online harm - those who wanted to hurt took a piece of a video she made some years ago to help us, to help women in our community. It was cut from a great video where she shared her experience, part of a series of stories of political paths that play a vital role in guiding and supporting other women in their journey towards political office. You can watch it all here https://youtu.be/RTBJf-a-UnE and know that we wholeheartedly support Soryia. And let us be clear and frank - there is a fundamental, ongoing need for DEI in our current political times. It’s a fact not political ideology. AND we don’t accept racist abuse of any kind.

"…we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us." Jo recognised that we all want and need dignity, opportunity, security, stability, and fairness. We are all human. It matters - not just today, the anniversary of Jo's murder - but everyday. Her full maiden speech is below & there is much more about how her legacy continues at The Jo Cox Foundation https://www.parliament.uk/business/news/news-by-year/2016/june/jo-cox-maiden-speech-in-the-house-of-commons/
