Recap: ACI World Economics Standing Committee (WESC) Meeting 🗓️ 12–13 May 2025 | Doha, Qatar 📍 Hosted by Hamad International Airport The WESC gathered in Doha for two days of valuable dialogue on advancing airport economic sustainability, reinforcing the role of airports as businesses, and aligning strategic priorities across regions. 🔹 Topics discussed included: • Aviation industry recovery trends, economics KPI benchmarking, and traffic forecasts • The ACI Strategic Plan 2030 and ICAO priorities • Regional policy updates from all ACI regions • Modulation of airport charges • CAPEX financing needs and trends, and airport development concessions (PPPs) • The economic impact of eVTOL, AAM, and UAS • ESG frameworks and non-aeronautical revenue strategies and more


✈️ After almost a year, the 58th meeting of the ACI World Security Standing Committee (WSSC) was graciously hosted by Aéroport de Bordeaux in beautiful Bordeaux, France, from 13–16 May 2025. The 3-day discussions were engaging and fruitful—topics included: • Benchmarking in various areas of security • Challenges and benefits of privatization of security • Risk-based approaches and Security Management Systems (SeMS) • Non-passenger screening • One Stop Security • Passenger experience and potential for non-aeronautical revenue generation by security operators
