https://spectrum.ieee.org/ev-charging-2671242103 I don't very often share technical, complex articles (despite being a joker and jester, I am a practicing engineer), but this one is too good to pass up. This article, written in regular, schmegular language, sets out a way to safely charge electric vehicles at 10% of the current cost. (Come for the article, stay for the comments)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/future/article/20250410-why-your-phone-doesnt-need-a-case-anymore Everyone has dropped their phones - I dropped mine this evening - and yet, compared to the frequency with which they fall (and compared to other items made from glass), the screens don't break as regularly. So, should you or should you not use a case and screen protector on your phone? Find out

And long-term illness) of a kid affects the family and everything around them. It is a story of Courage, but also a story of grief, of fear, of acceptance, of living with new, dreadful realities.

https://www.newyorker.com/books/page-turner/my-last-day-as-a-surgeon In this beautiful yet haunting essay, this doctor/writer discusses how it feels to know your life is running out, to go from being a doctor to being a patient, to watch the hard work that you've put into your career fade into irrelevance

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2025/02/17/chuka-fiction-chimamanda-ngozi-adichie Because good things come in threes, enjoy this belter of a story from Chimamanda. There's much to be said for choosing the life you want. There's crushing expectation on every side, but the only opinion that matters is yours. I hope you listen to your heart and live a life that matters to you, like the protagonist of this story

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-14425401/Gerald-McClellan-boxing-blind-brain-damaged.html Tremendous, emotive, powerful writing about (in this case) boxing, but really a reminder that your life can change in a split second, and through no fault of yours

https://longreads.com/2024/11/12/hunger-belonging-pregnancy-surrogate-kristina-kasparian The Kitchen With 2 Doors. As an itinerant worker, this resonated. When you're away from your home, your family, your people, food is a metaphor for the things you feel,, the strings that tug your heart, the absences that pockmark your spirit. It might be _mulukhiyah_ (ewedu, to Nigerians), it might be jollof, it might be a cup of tea, but making and savoring it reminds you that you came from somewhere and belong to someone, and distance will not eradicate that fact. I enjoyed this a lot

https://www.vogue.com/article/chimamanda-ngozie-adichie-the-story-of-my-first-love My president, Odeluwa 1, is writing again, and her easy, charming prose warms the cockles of my heart and lights up my eyes. Chinua Achebe is nonpareil and will always be my favorite author, but the greatest compliment I can give Chimamanda is that she writes her prose in the same brisk, relatable, familiar style that made Achebe such an easy read
