Greetings, dear family. Let's connect tonight for a session where we explore the role of the Holy Spirit in the worship life of a believer.

*Praising God in difficult times* | Pst Rich One of the biggest challenges we face in life is praising God during difficult times. Yet, this act can be one of the most powerful coping mechanisms available to us. The Bible states, “Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3 NLT). Praise is not merely a statement of gratitude; it is a profound invitation for God’s presence. According to Psalm 22:3, God inhabits, dwells in, and is seated upon the praises of His people. This means that when we lift our voices in worship, we create a throne for God in our midst. He draws near, He reigns, and His power becomes evident. In times of trouble, praising can feel especially challenging. Psalm 22 begins with a cry of despair: “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Psalm 22:1). These words were echoed by Jesus on the cross (Matthew 27:46). Yet, even in suffering, David acknowledged that God remains holy and worthy of praise. This serves as a reminder that our praise should not depend on our circumstances but should be rooted in who God is. Throughout Scripture, we observe the power of praise in bringing about God’s presence and intervention. For instance, when King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah faced an overwhelming enemy, they chose to worship. As they sang, “Give thanks to the Lord; his faithful love endures forever!” (2 Chronicles 20:21), God set ambushes against their enemies, leading to their defeat. Their victory was achieved through praise! Similarly, in Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas were imprisoned, yet they prayed and sang hymns to God. As they worshiped, a great earthquake shook the prison, breaking their chains and opening the doors. Their praise literally brought them freedom. No matter what you are facing today, remember that God is enthroned by your praise. Worship shifts your focus from your problems to the presence of God. It reminds you of His power, goodness, and faithfulness. When you praise, you invite God to reign over your situation, and His presence brings peace, joy, and victory. Be encouraged to praise and worship God, regardless of your circumstances.

*Worship in Spirit & Truth* “But the time is coming—indeed, it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” — John 4:23-24 (NLT) Jesus spoke these words to the Samaritan woman at the well, revealing a powerful truth: worship is not about a specific location or ritual; it is about a deep, personal connection with God. True worship flows from the heart and aligns with the truth of who God is. It is not just an outward expression but an inward devotion—engaging both the spirit and the mind. To worship in spirit means worshiping with our whole heart, led by the Holy Spirit. It should not be a mere routine or obligation but a genuine expression of love and reverence for God. Romans 12:1 reminds us: “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.” (Romans 12:1, NLT) Worship is more than just singing songs; it is a lifestyle of surrender, allowing the Spirit to transform our hearts and lives. Singing is one way to express our worship of God. To worship in truth means worshiping with an accurate understanding of who God is. Worship must be based on His Word, not on personal feelings or cultural trends. Jesus said in John 17:17, “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your Word, which is truth.” (John 17:17, NLT) When we worship in truth, we acknowledge God’s holiness, His love, and His sovereignty. Our worship is rooted in the truth of His promises and the reality of His presence. God desires worship that is both heartfelt and grounded in truth. When we approach God with sincerity and align our worship with His Word, we powerfully experience His presence. Let us examine our hearts today. Are we worshiping out of routine, or are we engaging both our spirit and our understanding of His truth? May we commit to being true worshipers—offering our lives fully to God, led by the Spirit and grounded in His Word. If you are in Harare, let’s meet for a time of worship tonight. Pst. *"Worship according to God's instructions"* Yesterday, I had a conversation with some friends about the importance of following God’s commands. Coincidentally, I had come across a verse that got me thinking: “But Nadab and Abihu died in the Lord’s presence in the wilderness of Sinai when they burned before the Lord the wrong kind of fire, different from what He had commanded” (Numbers 3:4, NLT). The story of Nadab and Abihu reminds us of the significance of following God’s instructions with reverence and care. Although they may have acted with zeal or good intentions, they disregarded God’s specific commands for worship. Our worship and actions must be rooted in God’s truth rather than in our own preferences or assumptions. Jesus said, “But the time is coming—indeed, it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way” (John 4:23, NLT). Worshipping in truth means aligning our hearts and actions with God’s will, as He desires our obedience. While God calls us to obedience, He also offers grace through Jesus Christ when we stumble. Jesus reminds us, “If you love me, obey my commandments” (John 14:15, NLT). This obedience is not about rigid rule-following but about love and trust. Even when we make mistakes, His grace is sufficient to restore us. However, Paul warns us not to take grace for granted: “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace? Of course not!” (Romans 6:1-2, NLT). Grace empowers us to live in obedience, as God’s commands are meant to guide and protect us. By trusting Him, we can lead lives that honor Him, reflecting true worship and faithfulness in everything we do. Let's just follow instructions. Pst. Rich Free2share
