The Ruling of Hajj on Behalf of Parents Who Cannot Perform It - Sheikh Ibn Bāz رحمه الله

Backbiting, Lying Whilst Fasting | Sh. Ibn Bāz Raḥimahullāh [Q]: Does backbiting cause a fasting person to break his fast? «الغيبة لا تفطر الصائم وهكذا النميمة والسب والشتم والكذب ، كل ذلك لا يفطر الصائم ، ولكنها معاص يجب الحذر منها واجتنابها من الصائم وغيره ، وهي تجرح الصوم وتنقص الأجر.» [A]: ❝Backbiting does not cause a fasting person to break his fast and likewise is cursing, swearing and lying, all of these things do not cause a fasting person to break his fast. However, they are sins which are obligatory to be warned against and kept away from by the fasting person and other than him. These actions wound the fast and decrease its reward.❞ ● [مجموع فتاوى ٣٢٠/١٥]

🎙 Shaykh ibn Baz رحمه الله: “It is not permissible for a Muslim to hate life and despair of the relief and goodness that is with Allah. Rather, it is obligatory for him to be patient with what he faces from the decrees of Allah.” 📖 Fatawa of the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta (25/398)

Ibn Baaz on How to Achieve Forgiveness and Freedom from the Fire During Ramadaan Shaikh Ibn Baaz, may Allaah have mercy on him, said, “It is obligatory for the fasting person to beware of everything that Allaah has forbidden for him and to safeguard everything that Allaah has made obligatory upon him, and by doing so it is hoped that he will be forgiven and freed from the Fire and that his fasting and standing to pray will be accepted.” 📖 Vol. 15, p. 15.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz In Baaz رحمه الله said, "My sincere advice to the Muslims is that they welcome their great month of Ramadan with truthfulness by repenting from all various types of sin." [Majmoo al Fatawah Wa Magalat Ibn Baaz 15/ 50]

The Ruling on Urinating while Standing Up Q: Is it permissible to urinate while standing up? A: There is nothing wrong with urinating while standing up, especially when necessary so long as the place is covered and no one can see your private parts and the spray of the urine should not touch you. It is narrated by Hudhayfah (رضي الله عنه) that: “The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) came to the dumps of some people and passed urine while standing.” However, it is better to urinate while sitting down because the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) did so often and because this conceals the private parts and guards one from the spray of urine. [Majmoo ’al-Fataawa Ibn Baaz, Vol.: 10; pg. 35]

Shaykh Ibn Bāz رحمه الله: “From the Bid'ahs which have been introduced into the religion by people is the Bid'ah of celebrating the Mid-Sha'ban night and fasting on its day. There is no reliable evidence for such actions.” [Fatwas of Ibn Bāz, (1/186-187) | Alifta]

Shaykh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said, “Certainly, celebrating the fifteenth night of Shaban by performing supererogatory prayers or other acts of worship, and singling out its day with fast is a despicable innovation, as viewed by the majority of the people of knowledge. There is no basis for it in the pure Shari'ah, rather, it is from that which arose in Islaam after the era of the Companions رضي الله عنه.” [حكم الا حتفال بليله النصف من شعبان]

Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If the people of truth were to remain silent about clarifying it, those who are mistaken would persist in their errors, and others would imitate them in that, and the silent ones would bear the sin of concealment." Majmoo’ al-Fatawa (3/72)
