Reader, Come Home by Maryanne Wolf In a world full of information, the ability to hold, focus and contemplate on just one piece, without getting distracted by the uninterrupted bombardment, has become severely depleted. The art of βdeep readingβ, in which a reader creates a world of their own, over and beyond the one created by the author, is a vanishing art. In this book, through a series letters, the author makes arguments for use of physical books and a case for striking a balance between physical and digital in todayβs learning landscape, especially for children. The entire book is very easily readable and cites several scientific evidences to make the arguments that it does. For myself, it made me rethink my increasing tendency to read non-fictions and do so on an e-reader instead of books.
