JKECC Slams J&K Bank for Double EMI Deductions Before Eid, Seeks Urgent Government Action Srinagar, June 5, 2025 — The Jammu & Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) has strongly condemned J&K Bank for deducting double EMIs from government employees' salary accounts just days before Eid-ul-Adha. The move, labeled as arbitrary and insensitive, has triggered widespread outrage across various employee sectors, including teachers, hospital staff, and pensioners. The deductions, made without prior notice, have left many employees financially distressed, unable to manage basic festive needs or medical expenses. JKECC called it a "blow to employee trust" and demanded an immediate reversal and public apology from the bank. Social media has been flooded with posts criticizing the bank's move, calling it exploitative and demanding RBI and government intervention.
