About Free Software Movement (Generation Z)
A channel for propagating the goal of computing freedom 🗽 Free Software is a matter of *liberty*, *not price*. Free as in Free Speech, not Free Beer. Free Software respects the 4 essential freedoms of users: 0- Run the program 1- Modify (access to source code) 2- Share 3- Redistribute modified versions Free Software isn't communism. A communist state is one that doesn't allow private ownership. Free Software is meant to respect your freedoms and have actual ownership over your computer. Free Software Movement is not against possession of private software. Our agenda is to distribute software (if distributed) in a way that doesn't harm the users. Boycott weak licenses like BSD, MIT and others, using them results corporations stealing your software for their profits without giving you anything back. Use GPL 3.0 or AGPL, to ensure that not only you contribute, but also you get back in return. Promote net neutrality and open standards for fair competition and healthy capitalism. Proprietary software is harmful by design. It gives the manufacturer unjust power over the users. It's meant to subjugate and divide users. Proprietary software often comes with spyware and other malicious functionality. Reject Microshaft Winblows and switch to GNU/Linux to value your freedom and privacy. Reject Google Chrome to fight back against their attack on free web and to protect your privacy. Use Mozilla Firefox. If you are a web developer, avoid obfuscating your javascript code. Also, license it under a Free Software license. Avoid using the term "Open Source". Open source is a model derived from Free Software ideas but with the ethical principles and ideas of freedom removed.
