💔 Why Are So Many Marriages Failing? Because we’ve abandoned the prophetic criteria. The Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ said: "If there comes to you one whose religious commitment and character you are pleased with, then marry (your daughter) to him. If you do not, there will be fitnah in the land and widespread corruption." 📘 Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī 1085 – Ḥasan (by al-Albānī) And when the companions asked, “Even if he is such and such?” The Prophet ﷺ repeated it three times — to emphasize it loud and clear. 🛑 But what happens today? We reject a righteous man because: — He doesn’t drive a fancy car 🚫 — His skin tone doesn’t match “beauty standards” 🚫 — His job isn’t high status 🚫 — He’s not from “our caste” or “our race” 🚫 And then what? 📉 Trials in the Ummah. 📉 Endless divorce rates. 📉 Broken daughters. 📉 Regretful parents. We chose culture over Sunnah. We paid the price. 💡 The Prophet ﷺ never said: “Marry the one with the biggest bank account.” He said: Marry the one with the biggest taqwā and best character. 🌹 A man of religion will fear Allah in how he treats your daughter. A man of character will support her through storms with patience and mercy. And yes — this applies to women too. The same standard must be applied in both directions: dīn and akhlāq. 🤲 O Allah, revive in our hearts the prophetic standards. Let us choose what pleases You over what pleases people.
