*No illegal, Immoral Or Unethical Incident Involving Males and Females In Tangmarg Incident: Police* *Says It was A Pure Road Rage Incident* Srinagar, 13 Feb(GNS): Police on Thursday said that there was no No illegal, immoral or unethical incident involving the males and females at Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. In a handout to GNS, the police said that today around 1345 hrs, an XUV-300 vehicle bearing HR number plate with its 5 occupants (3 males from Haryana and 2 females from South Kashmir) was attacked by a few miscreants in jurisdiction of Police Station Tangmarg. The police party which rushed to the spot for rescue was also assaulted with one Head Constable sustaining injury on head. Many locals in the area also rushed in to help the police in rescuing the 5 persons being assaulted. FIR in this regard has been registered in PS Tangmarg. The assailants are being identified and will be held accountable before law. According to police spokesman, as per preliminary investigation, there had been a road rage incident in Srinagar and a few vehicles had been trailing the XUV-300 vehicles from Srinagar. When the trailing vehicles caught up with XUV-300 in Tangmarg, persons from the trailing vehicles came out and assaulted the 5 occupants. No illegal, immoral or unethical incident involving the males and females in the vehicles has come to light. It has been noted that rumours and misinformation regarding the incident are being circulated on social media with the intention of causing unrest. J&K Police has taken note of this and has begun profiling the individuals who are trying to spread fake discourse with the aim of disrupting peace and order. Legal action shall be take against the individuals indulging in spreading fake news regarding the matter, he said. J&K Police also lauds efforts of the good samaritans of Tangmarg who rushed in to assist police in controlling the situation, reads the statement.(GNS)

*12 FIRs Registered Against House/ Land Owners For Not Providing Details Of Tenants To Police In Samba* Jammu, February 17:(GNS) Police on Monday said that it has registered twelve FIRs against house/land owners for not providing details of tenants to Police in a drive launched for the verification of tenants/outsiders across district Samba. In a handout to GNS, the police saie that the verification process was initiated by the Samba Police for the outsiders staying as tenants and domestic helpers. During the drive, four cases were registered at Police Station Samba, three cases each were registered at Police Bari Brahmana & Police Station Ramgarh and one case each registered at Police Station Vijaypur & Police Station Ghagwal under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police spokesman further stated that twelve FIRs registered under section 223 BNS includes FIR Nos. 48/2025, 49/2025, 50/2025 & 51/2025 of PS Samba, FIR Nos. 24/2025, 25/2025 & 26/2025 of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR Nos. 09/2025, 10/2025 & 11/2025 of PS Ramgarh, FIR No. 19/2025 of PS Vijaypur and FIR No. 27/2025 of PS Ghagwal. It is pertinent to mention here that District Magistrate Samba has ordered for the Police verification of the tenants and despite orders, the booked persons failed to get the Police verification of their tenant conducted, he said. SSP Samba urged upon the citizens of the district to come forward and provide the complete details of their tenants/domestic helpers to their nearest Police Station and get the Police verification done timely, reads the statement.(GNS)

Eight Arrested for Instigating Mentally Unsound Man to Construct Replica of Holy Structure in North Kashmir Srinagar, Feb 12, KNT: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have arrested eight individuals, including a carpenter, for allegedly persuading and assisting a mentally unsound man in constructing a replica of a holy structure in Waripora Kunzar. The arrests were made following widespread demands from locals for identifying those who instigated the act. According to officials, Abdul Razak, a resident of Waripora Kunzar, who is said to be mentally unstable, was encouraged by the accused to build the structure. The incident stirred strong reactions in the area, prompting authorities to intervene swiftly. Acting on public outrage, a police team from Kunzar Police Station, under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Faizan Ali and SHO Kunzar Sheikh Aadil took all eight individuals into custody and registered formal cases against them. "The involvement of these individuals in misleading and exploiting a mentally unsound person has been established, and legal action has been initiated accordingly," a police official said. Local residents have welcomed the police action, calling for a thorough investigation to ensure such incidents do not recur. [KNT]
