Looking back at a historic moment for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church! On 10 February 2005, the Vatican elevated our Church to a Major Archiepiscopal Church through Ab ipso Sancto Thoma. A day of grace and joy for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church! On 13 February 2025, seven deacons were ordained to the priesthood at St. Mary’s Major Archiepiscopal Cathedral, Pattom, through the sacred hands of His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos. Fr. Jacob Thekeparambil has been honoured with the prestigious title "Malpanaa Idhiya D'Hendo" (Distinguished Teacher of India) for his outstanding contributions to Syriac studies and theology.
