You will assist in guiding safari tours, sharing in-depth knowledge about native flora and fauna, and promoting conservation awareness. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about wildlife, environmental education, and public engagement. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the field, develop interpretive guiding skills, and support daily operations of safari tours under the supervision of experienced rangers and guides. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct Guided Safari Tours Lead or assist in guided vehicle or walking safaris, providing guests with accurate and engaging information about wildlife, plants, ecosystems, and conservation efforts. Educate and Engage Guests Interpret animal behavior, ecological relationships, and conservation issues to enhance guest understanding and appreciation of wildlife and the natural environment. Ensure Guest Safety Monitor guest behavior and follow all safety protocols to minimize risks during tours and wildlife encounters. Support Daily Safari Operations Assist in preparing safari vehicles, checking equipment, and ensuring supplies and safety gear are available and functional. Observe and Report Wildlife Activity Record wildlife sightings, behavior, and movement patterns to support ecological monitoring and tour planning. Promote Conservation Ethics Encourage responsible tourism practices by educating guests on how to minimize their impact on the environment and wildlife. Assist with Camp or Lodge Duties Participate in other operational tasks such as maintaining cleanliness, helping with guest services, or supporting educational programs Learn from Experienced Guides Shadow professional guides and participate in training sessions to build knowledge and guiding skills throughout the internship. Qualifications and Experience Qualifications: * Currently enrolled in o a degree or diploma program in Wildlife Conservation, Zoology, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Ecology, Nature Conservation, or any related field. * A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation, and environmental education. * Possession of a valid driver’s license (manual transmission preferred); ability to drive in off-road or rugged conditions is an advantage. * Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to confidently engage and educate diverse groups of guests. * Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. * Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays. * Basic knowledge of native wildlife species and ecosystems; prior fieldwork or research experience is a plus. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in remote or wilderness settings. * First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it prior to the start of the internship is an advantage.
