What are some of the ways you have taken action to prevent hate speech?

Hate speech can have real consequences for individuals and communities. But each of us can help stop hate speech and raise awareness of how it causes harm.

In favour: 149 Against: 12 Abstentions: 19 The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding an immediate & permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution also demands full, rapid, safe & unhindered humanitarian access in Gaza & the immediate release of all hostages.


“I call for full respect of international law by both sides, in particular the protection of civilians in densely populated areas.” UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk appeals for de-escalation in the Middle East and urgent diplomatic efforts. The High Commissioner further warned that the world’s “current trajectory of escalating conflict and blatant disregard for human rights is indefensible.”

In conflict, civilians always pay the highest price. Even wars have rules. Civilians must be protected. At all times and in all places. They are not a target.


“I am appalled by the reports of Palestinians killed and injured while seeking aid in Gaza yesterday.” UN Secretary-General António Guterres says it is unacceptable that Palestinians are risking their lives for food. “The unimpeded entry of assistance at scale to meet the enormous needs in Gaza must be restored immediately,” he stressed.
