*A crisis is unfolding* at sea in Southeast Asia. Rohingya refugees face a grim start to 2025. *Here’s what you need to know:* 👉 In just five days, hundreds of Rohingya arrived in countries in the region after weeks at sea with little food or water. *10 people tragically died* during the dangerous journey. 👉 *Over 7,800 fled by boat* in 2024—a staggering *80% increase* from 2023. Of those, *650 people* were reported dead or missing. 👉 Women now account for *nearly a third* of those fleeing, and children make up *almost half.* 👉 *Frontline communities,* like those in South Aceh are supporting with food, clothing and shelter to those arriving with nothing.
