In our last poll, most of you shared that *"dealing with competition"* is the toughest part of running a business.
And honestly? You're not alone.
Let me share a personal story with you all.
One morning, I decided to get a haircut. I went to my usual salon, and the staff told me to wait as they hadn't opened yet. Not wanting to waste time, I walked to another salon nearby but got the same response.
Frustrated,😤 I tried a third salon. As soon as I arrived, I noticed something different:
🚗 Four cars parked outside (a clear sign it was busy).
💺 Six chairs inside, with five already occupied.
✂️ Five workers actively cutting and styling hair.
I immediately thought, “What’s different about this salon? Location toh same hai, prices bhi same lag rahe hain.”
Out of curiosity, I asked the owner, “Bhaiya, aap alag kya karte ho jo yahan itni bheed hai?”
His answer?💇♂️
“Main subah 7 baje hi apni dukaan khol leta hoon. Baaki sab salons 10 baje kholte hain.”
And there it was—the secret to his success: convenience. While other salons were still closed, he was already serving early customers who preferred getting a trim before starting their day.
*Competition ko harane ka best tareeka hai market ki problem ko samajhna aur solution dena*.
This salon owner identified a simple gap—timing—and capitalized on it.
He didn’t lower his prices.
He didn’t change his location.
He just made his services more convenient for his customers.
In your business, what’s the one problem you can solve that your competitors aren’t paying attention to? It could be:
Faster delivery.🚚
Better customer support.📲
Flexible timings.⌛
Remember, small changes can make a huge difference in how customers perceive your business.
