'Demand for separate administration remains,' says Kuki group after Manipur CM's resignation Guwahati: Feb 9, 2025 Kuki organisations in conflict-torn Manipur on Sunday said their demand for "separate administration" remains the same despite the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh. "Whether Biren Singh is CM or not, our demand for separate administration remains the same. We have been separated by the Meitei people, and there's no going back. So much blood has been shed. Only a political solution can redeem us," Ginza Vualzong, the spokesperson of Kuki Council,, an apex body of major Kuki organisations said, hours after Biren Singh submitted his resignation to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla. Vualzong was part of a four-member delegation of the Kuki Council, which met the MHA officials in New Delhi on January 17. The council reiterated its demand for a "separate administration" with a legislature, comprising Kuki-dominated districts in Manipur. Reacting to Singh's resignation, Vualzong said, "I believe he knew he would be voted out in the no confidence voting in the Manipur Assembly, and to save his face, he must have submitted his resignation." He also said that Singh was worried over a petition in the Supreme Court, in which the Kuki organisation submitted an audio tape of the CM alleging his role in the Meitei-Kuki conflict that killed over 250 persons and displaced over 60,000 others. "With his audio tape leaked being taken up by the Supreme Court, I guess this time, even the BJP government can't do much to save him." 👉News leh thupoimo ho hoitah leh kitupsel'a namu jing theina ding in hiche teni hi follow hinbol in Kukiland: Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Kukriland.India Kuki Country - Kukiland: Whatsapp Channel https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaONjCn5EjxzdiEBX21i
