*Tu BiShvat - New Year of the Trees* 🌳
Tonight and tomorrow we mark Tu BiShvat in the Hebrew calendar - the agricultural New Year of the trees.
🌧️ This date was chosen because it is the point in time when most of the winter rains have already fallen and a new season begins.
🍇 On this day it is customary to eat fruits of the land, especially the seven species: wheat, barley, grape, fig, pomegranate, olive, and date.
📖 It is customary to conduct a "Tu BiShvat Seder": reading contents from the sources that speak in praise of the Land of Israel and its fruits.
🙏 Although the holiday is called the 'Festival of Trees', it has a deep meaning for us humans as well. It's a wonderful opportunity to pause, observe the wonders of nature, give thanks for the abundance of fruits, and pray for a blessed and fruitful year.
Enjoy the blooming almond trees! 🌸
Happy Tu BiShvat!
