The first pillar of Islam is the Shahada, which is the declaration of faith. It is a statement that declares the oneness of God (Allah) and the acceptance of Muhammad as the prophet of Allah. The Shahada is typically recited in Arabic as:
"La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur rasulullah"
Which translates to:
"There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."
