The research group “Junction of Statistics and Biology” led by Professor Jingyi Jessica Li ([https://lnkd.in/djW7Wd7Q)) in the Department of Statistics at UCLA invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position. The research in the group focuses on developing statistical methods to address important biological and biomedical questions from high-throughput genetic and genomic data. Their current projects include: identifying disease/trait-associated genes from population-scale bulk RNA-seq data, studying temporal and spatial dynamics from single-cell multi-omics data, benchmarking computational tools, and statistical methodology development for asymmetric classification and multiple testing motivated by genomic applications. They will strongly support highly motivated postdocs to initiate independent lines of research.
