Today, Hindus celebrate Thaipusam. This annual festival celebrates the virtues of piety, penance, and devotion in honour of Lord Murugan. Those familiar with the festival will know that it is a significant event for Tamil Hindus, and is one of the most iconic festivals in Singapore.
